We provide individual tax planning and tax return preparation for over seven hundred clients. I have successfully prepared over 17,000 tax returns during my CPA practice.
I am a 1991 graduate of Bethany College, Bethany, West Virginia with a Bachelor of Arts degree in accounting and a minor in business economics and management. During college, I was a four year letter winner and captain of the basketball team and president of my Beta Theta Pi fraternity. I obtained my Certified Public Accountant designation in August 1993.
I am a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, West Virginia Society of Certified Public Accountants, Northern WV Chapter of the West Virginia Society of Certified Public Accountants, and the Wheeling Area Chamber of Commerce.
I am on the Board of Directors for the Wheeling YMCA and Mountaineer Brewfest. I actively help the Y promote family fitness activities and affordability to recreational services. I am also a member and Past President of the Circus Saints & Sinners Club, a local fund raising organization that holds fun events raising money for local charities.
Prior to starting my practice, I was the auditor for the Bank of Weirton, Weirton, West Virginia (currently WesBanco). I was responsible for developing and implementing an internal audit program for all aspects and activities of the largest independent bank in West Virginia. At that time I was the youngest officer in bank history. Before taking the auditor position, I was a financial institution examiner for the West Virginia Division of Banking. My examiner responsibilities included evaluating an institution's overall financial soundness, determining compliance with state and federal laws, analyzing financial statements, identifying trends and deviations, performing credit analysis on loans and investments, and evaluating internal control procedures and internal audit functions.
I am a life-long resident of the Wheeling area and currently live in Valley Grove, West Virginia.
